Kastanienhof Open All-Day School

In the afternoons, Kastanienhof offers students the opportunity to attend an open all-day school with activities five afternoons a week. Tailored to the students’ needs, we offer a wide range of activities in the areas of recreation, sports, and the arts.

School Support at Kastanienhof Oldenburg

Our school support staff help students participate in school life. Here’s what our school support staff do on a daily basis:

Organization: They provide structure and help students set up their workspaces at school and manage their work materials and resources.
Classroom assistance: You will support students in class, for example by reading worksheets aloud and reviewing assignments. You will provide guidance and help motivate them.
Support with daily living skills: You assist students with daily living activities such as eating and drinking, getting dressed and undressed, and using the restroom.
Promoting independence: They support students’ mobility and assist them, for example, when moving between classrooms or using mobility aids or wheelchairs. They also help students find their way around the schoolyard and inside the building.
Social learning: You support students in interacting with their classmates, facilitate these interactions, and help resolve conflicts.

Registration

Participation in the after-school program, which consists of two hours each day, is initially voluntary but becomes mandatory for the remainder of the school year.
