Kastanienhof offers pupils the opportunity to attend an open all-day school in the afternoon, with activities on five afternoons a week. Based on the needs of the pupils, we offer a wide range of activities in the areas of leisure, sport and art.

Our school assistants support social participation in everyday school life.
They provide structure and help with setting up the workstation at school and handling work materials and aids.
They support pupils in lessons, e.g. by reading worksheets aloud and repeating tasks. They provide guidance and motivation.
They support the pupils with practical life tasks such as eating and drinking, dressing and undressing and going to the toilet.
They support the mobility of individual pupils and help with the use of walking aids or wheelchairs when changing rooms, for example. They also provide guidance in the schoolyard and in the building.
They support pupils in their contact with their classmates, initiate this contact and help with conflicts.
Participation in the OGS activities, which comprise two hours a day, is initially voluntary, but then compulsory for the current school year.
